Great Collection, Easy Keys but small print.

Great selection of Christmas music. Most are in easy to play keys. Only reason for 4 stars is print size. To get the large number of selections they used a rather small print. I admit I have the eyes of a 75 year old man but they are pretty good and I have a bit of a hard time seeing the music to only to the print size. Just a few points larger in size would make all the difference.

Type is small, but big enough

I needed it simply lead sheets to play behind my congregation during our xmas celebration. I love the binder, the type is kind of small, but it's big enough to read the chord changes. This will last awhile due to the awesome binder.

About the Author
Julie Moir Messervy is a noted landscape and garden designer, author, lecturer, and principal of Julie Moir Messervy Associates in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Messervy designed the Toronto Music Garden in collaboration with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and gardens for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, and the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Garden, Columbus, Ohio. She is a columnist for "Fine Gardening "magazine and author of three previous books.
She received her BA from Wellesley College and attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's School of Architecture, where she received her Master of Architecture and Master in City Planning degrees. She trained with the eminent Japanese garden master Kinsaku Nakane in Kyoto, Japan.
Sarah Susanka has become one of the best known and most highly regarded architects in the United States, and is a leading advocate for the popularization of residential architecture. Her first book, "The Not So Big House," topped best-seller charts across the country

You will be so glad you bought this!

This wonderful book truly inspires gardeners and do-it-yourself landscapers. It is full of unusual, exciting, and achievable ideas for lawns, beds, pools, pavings, and more. The acknowledgements say that the wealth of photos and plans were submitted by many designers and then selected by Julie Messervy and her staff at JMMDS (Julie Moir Messervy Design Studio). Perhaps that partly explains the enormous variety of ideas in this book, but anyone familiar with Ms. Messervy’s work and her many other books will not be surprised to find so many kinds of beautiful ideas for designing outdoor spaces.

A few of the great design ideas in the book are things that I have heard of before—like the importance of focal points—but many others are new, tremendously helpful concepts to me, like the advisability of dividing your space into zones. I also love the way the design ideas cover a wide spectrum, from a dramatically unusual meditative labyrinth of sedum, riverstone, and raked earth to more traditional treatments of gates, walls, fences, etc.

The before and after pictures of the DIY backyard would inspire anyone, and I also particularly love the ideas for side yards, garages, and driveways, the “green ideas that work,” and above all, the way this book suggests things that I can actually achieve—building, creating, and maintaining my landscape on my own.

And now I’m totally inspired to have chickens for pest control!

I really like the author 'a approach to landscape design. Her concepts, sketches, and beautiful photography clearly convey her principles while challenging the reader to create an outdoor living space uniquely theirs.

This is a fantastic book full of fresh ideas and supported by a knowledgeable text. Julie Moir Messervy's books are always good and I think this is the best so far. Her designs and those pictured are a real feast for landscape designers. I will refer to this book regulalry when designing. Highly recommended.

Excellent comprehensive overview

This book covers one thing very comprehensively-- robot grippers! It is similar to the illustrated mechanical device source books found on Amazon, but with a specific focus.

It's organized well and reads easily once you've reviewed the glossary of terms used (provided early in the book). Being new to this subject area, I found it very helpful and got many design ideas from it.

Great great book for the price. I had to wait longer for it to ship however the wait was worth it. I am learning new lettering and fonts I will utilize in my everyday life and in my crafts.

Great reminder of what artistic integrity is all about

Although the text-instructional section of this book is not long, it is very poignant. While lettering and font design today is just a computer-generated afterthought in too many cases, in the earlier era (this book was written in 1946), commercial artists had to really know and FEEL their lettering. I love to read a craftsman describe his craft with such depth of feeling, describing fonts as exquisite, and exhorting readers to strive for the greatest heights they can achieve in hand lettering. A great introduction, in any case, to the world of words in print, from the artists point of view.

About the Author

Lauren Leslie is Professor Emerita at Marquette University where she directed the Hartman Literacy and Learning Center for over a decade. In addition to the Qualitative Reading Inventory she has published two other books with JoAnne Caldwell, both published by Pearson: The Content Area Reading Assessment: A formative measure of the Common Core State Standards (Pearson, 2015), and Intervention Strategies to Follow an Informal Reading Inventory: So what should we do now? (Pearson, 2013). She has published over 20 research articles and received (with Linda Allen) the Albert J. Harris Research Award from the International Reading Association in 2001. She also received the Bielefeld Award for Professional Achievement in teaching, research, and mentoring of women faculty and students at Marquette University in 2006.

 

JoAnne Schudt Caldwell is currently Professor Emerita at Cardinal Stritch University. She is co-author of Content Area Reading Assessment: A Formative Measure of the Common Core State Standards, Intervention Strategies to Follow Informal Reading Assessment; So What Do I Do Now? and Reading Problems: Assessment and Teaching Strategies. She is the author of Reading Assessment: A Primer for Teachers in the Common Core Era and Comprehension Assessment: A Classroom Guide. She received her PhD from Marquette University and in 2005 received an Achievement Award from that institution.

The directions in this book are easy to follow

I'm excited to use QRI to help identify the struggling readers in my classroom. The data provided will help me target my instruction to meet the needs of the students. The directions in this book are easy to follow. The online access makes it quite easy to print the forms needed for assessment as well. Since I'm new to QRI, the audio samples provide online are very helpful too.

A wonderful book for all team leaders. The author supports the leaders in reflecting about their own leadership, clarifying their teams' purpose and goals, building and sustaining teams, and moving the teams forward as learning communities. The author's clear and caring voice makes it feel as if she was speaking right to you. The author provides many tools and practical tips to build the leader's capacity, resilience and joy in the leadership role.

This book is a MUST-READ for coaches, administrators, and teacher leaders- really all educators!
