I don't remember the previous books in this series being so boring, so something just seemed to go off here. It could have been about two people falling in love, despite the huge differences in their lives, the distance, the separation, the beliefs, but no, alien and UFO chasing was the horse that was beaten to death here. Over and over again. The dialogue was so awkward, neither the H nor the h sounded real, it was as if this book was written with the purpose of putting me to sleep and it did. The worst part of this book was the Hero, he was so perfect he was boring too, and his role in the story was simply not enough to sustain my interest, almost like the non-hero of chick-lit. These books are quite formulaic and I am disappointed but it is time for me to stop reading this author's books.

I enjoy this author immensely! She is the only author that's an automatic buy for me. Books with a beginning, middle and end!!! Fantastic characters all thru the books with an added bonus of catching up with some of the old favorites from previous works.
BREE is quirky, sassy, confident (for the most part but who doesn't have moments of self-doubt) and protective of her town. Nick is generous, sweet, sexy and very protective of BREE. Two characters falling in love with the help of fate, letters and disagreements about aliens. :)

This is a sociological and historical analysis of the conflict between the state and the Catholic Church in China between 1949 and 2001 during half of a century of the socialist regime. Never in the past the Catholic Church has shown a rigorous growth under the encouragement of the Communist Party to shape the Church in the image of a indigenous and local church and to minimize the influence of the Vatican. There remains a persistent struggle between the underground church, those who remain loyal to early missionaries and to the Holy See, and the official national church controlled by the Party/State. The authors argue that there is hope that the conflict will eventually disappear as the new leadership in Beijing may one day restore a diplomatic relationship with the Vatican.

Reading the works by Dr Beatrice Leung

I have previously read other books by Dr Beatrice Leung. This is the second book of her I bought in 2 years time. All her books were well written, informative and educational.

There is one particular enjoyable thing reading her book -- she was always able to integrate the church history with historical events and gave readers fresh perspective on church development from a sociological point of view. The amount of research the authors did in preparing this book was by all means admirable.

2 suggestions:
1) It will be more convenient to readers if an index section can be added. Currently when I want to search the book, I must go to google books to search then mark in the book I have on hand.
2) Bishop James Edward Walsh was released in the year of 1970. Given that the authors were so knowledgable in the Church history, this was probably be just a typing mistake.
